Editorial Reviews Though prepared to perform solo, Young prefers to bring along the Tin Cup, a drop-in, mish-mash of fiddle, banjo, effected guitar and lowing horns, featuring guest appearances by, among others, Rebecca Till, Pellucid and the Be Good Tanyas Samantha Parton.

Album Description
Pilgrim is a follow-up to Young's 2002 release, Early Bird Songs, heard nationally in Canada on CBC Radio, and finds Young drawing on the prairie landscape of his home province of Alberta for a little space and inspiration. Neil Young, Giant Sand, Will Oldham and J.J. Cale are influences, with spiritual roots drawing deep from Van Morrison waters. The songs on Pilgrim feature soundscapes and lyrics with cinematic detail and vivid narrative that echo the films of John Ford and Akira Kurosawa and the books of John Steinbeck and Ernest Hemmingway.
