About the Artist
Carey Kotsionis and Adam Landry form the core of The Sways. Both moved to Nashville, Tennessee in 2000 to pursue their musical ambitions (Carey is from North Carolina and Adam is from Maine). After meeting in Nashville, Carey and Adam began playing vintage roots and ragtime tunes with Carey singing, and Adam playing his Grandfather's 1937 Epaphone acoustic guitar. With two active songwriters, it did not take long for The Sways to begin working on original material. Word spread quickly about this quirky new duo, and soon industry professionals began to take note. They were signed by Paï Gow Productions, an indie label in Nashville. They recorded their debut album at The Wax Museum with producers John Keaney and Michael Corbett. Each song on the album is an original Americana tune written by Carey and Adam. Although Carey's vocal style has been compared to the likes of Bonnie Raitt and Sheryl Crow, the group's songs are like nothing you've heard before. Deliver! ed with the sincere vocal power of Carey and the instrumental artistry of Adam, fans of good songs and good times will make fast friends with The Sways.
