Album Description
San Francisco's I Am Spoonbender return to GSL with three all-new tracks of post-futuristic proto-reality for the new-new-wave generation. While the group's 1998 debut, Sender/Receiver, remains a favorite amongst loyal GSL die-hards, Spoonbender's touring in support of the faint has introduced them to an eager, younger audience, while their expanded lineup has basically reinvented the group's aesthetic. Largely unfamiliar with their earlier work and undeniable place amongst cerebral audio deconstructionists such as This Heat and Zoviet France, the 'kids' will likely be anticipating a synth-buzzing, overcharged dose of digital-analog dance mayhem. That's exactly what they'll get. Cover art courtesy of the legendary UK design firm Hipgnosis, whose work for Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, and Peter Gabriel is arguably the best rock-related art ever produced. Gold Standard. 2002.
