(Rhymesayers) Mr. Dibbs is a bad, bad man. The foul-tempered, potty-mouthed Cincinnati DJ is the undie scenes leading thug, a devil-bearded bodyguard for his sensitive emo-rap cohorts. On The 30th Song, Dibbs takes his brutal sound in a (gasp!) more elegant direction, spinning sultry tales like "Outreach 5" and "Rhythmic Soaring." To purists, these tunes might come off as hopelessly middlebrow, but the DJ deserves props for stepping away from his trademark fatalism even if only briefly. Dibbs dips back to form on the furious "Judeas Transmission," a twisted tour of his dark inner landscape. On "I Hate Greg," an unctuous bass line drips all over a militaristic drum loop, while "Machine" is a nocturnal freak-out sure to induce nightmares in the fainthearted. Capping things off is the astounding "Porntablist," a 19-minute pastiche of orgiastic groans and snatched pelvic thrusts. Never mind your eyes, children cover your ears.
