Editorial Reviews Rockabilly --- a blend of country, rhythm-and-blues, and jazz first popularized in the 1950s by Elvis Presley --- is an underground music scene on the rise. Only a handful of women perform rockabilly, and nearly all of them stand static behind a rhythm guitar at a microphone --- but not Dulcie. Miss Younger's set incorporates the hip-shaking antics she learned from studying burlesque showgirls. She is also the only woman known to climb on top of an upright bass in the middle of a song and stand there in high heels as the bass player slaps at the strings between her ankles. Her shows are as full of spontaniety and as raw as her music. Dulcie produced, wrote (or co-wrote), and sang all ten tracks of "Kitty, Kitty...GROWL!" The album was engineered by Barry Conley, who also recorded The Stray Cats, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Sugar Ray. "Kitty, Kitty...Growl!" was recorded at Paramount Recording Studios in Hollywood, CA. Top-billed rockabilly guitarist, Deke Dickerson, lent his talents to the tracks, and members of Royal Crown Review (swing band formerly signed to Warner Bros. Records) offered a few friendly pointers. The album was engineered using vintage recording techniques to replicate the warmth of the 1950s era sound.

About the Artist
"Sex Kitten" is a thing of the past for rockabilly singer/songwriter Dulcie Younger --- literally. Like a young Elizabeth Taylor, Miss Younger keeps her hair in tight curls, her lips painted red, and the neckline on her vintage dresses daringly low. Her singing style is intimate, a close-range whisper into a studio microphone, and her songs echo with both desire and desperation. "Kitty, Kitty...GROWL!", is Dulcie's first album and was released in February of 2004.
