Exotic. Exploratory. Exciting. These are all words that describe Enuma Elish...
The Boston Phoenix, May 18, 2001
The music resides in an imagined world made possible by digital juxtaposition and postmodern cut-and-paste techniques.
Album Description
Enuma Elish dishes up a heady blend of 21st century fourth world jazz/electronica trip-skronk, incorporating electro-acoustic percussion, a multiplicity of reed instruments, and original looped samples drawn from Warren Jones' ethnomusicological travels in Africa and Asia. If you're already on the bus with bands the likes of Macha, Tortoise, The Chicago Underground Duo, or even oldies like Byrne & Eno's My Life in the Bush of Ghosts, Can, or Soft Machine, you won't want to miss this unusual improvisational duo. This album, recorded live in one session, proves that trance music needn't wimp out on the edginess factor.
