Phosphorescent

Editorial Reviews
Album Description
"Phosphorescent" is the follow-up to the utterly unique self-titled debut CD released by The Order of the Suffering Clown / World Serpent in 2000. "Phosphorescent" represents the aural manifestation of a return to light, strength, and self-assurance after the darker, more introspective and at times longing debut material. SVC is comprised of the core talents and creative visions of Bruce LaFountain and John Murphy, who are frequently assisted by the crucial contributions of Karl Blake. Between them, these three artists possess a wealth of experience in the realm of underground music that spans a breadth of decades and continues to the present. LaFountain has done live work with Karl Blake, and has also worked with Dream Into Dust and Bryin Dall, who both helped create the debut SVC CD. Murphy has collaborated with a wide range of artists including Knife Ladder, Shining Vril, Current 93, Death In June, and SPK. Karl Blake's pedigree includes Shock Headed Peters and Lemon Kittens, and he is a Sol Invictus mainstay, in addition to frequently contributing to Current 93. On "Phosphorescent" LaFountain, Murphy and Blake are joined by English poet and author Jeremy Reed to craft a release that skillfully balances genuine musicianship and phantasmagoric experimentation.
