Editorial Reviews The Screwtape Letters entered the Dallas scene in august of 1997. Within the first six months, the band had played many popular Dallas venues including: Trees, The Curtain Club, Club Dada, Club Clearview, and the Galaxy Club. The band had also worked regionally in cities including but not limited to: Waco, Shreveport, San Angelo, and Lubbock. Lubbock was the first big regional break for the Screwtape Letters. The band was asked to play the annual "Crawfish Festival" with national acts like The Grand Street Cryers, Tonic, and Soak. It was around this time that the band released it's debut e.p., Float and Fall. The e.p. has since sold out, and has earned the band a featured spot on KEGL 97.1's "The Local Show". Float and Fall received a music award from Fort Worth Weekly. The release of this e.p. also attracted local label support from Soundmine Entertainment. After two years of playing live, the Srewtape Letters had earned a significant reputation in other metroplex cities. The band frequented the Ardvark, the Wreck room and Caravan of Dreams in Ft. Worth; Rick's place in Denton, and Scruffy Murphy's in Waco. At the end of 1999, the Screwtape Letters parted ways with lead guitarist, Chad Fuller, and hired John Wallace. Screwtape went to work to revamp their sound in time to perform at the North Texas New Music Festival. Unfortunately, John Wallace departed soon after, and the band found the lead guitarist they had been searching for all along. New guitarist, Thomas Huckaby, proved to be a welcome addition, adding tastefully intense leads to the Screwtape Letters previously established rhythms. After cementing the band's lineup for the final time, the band went into the studio to record a new e.p. with Casey Diiorio of Valve. Featured tracks include: Ticking away, A day with a queen, Turn the light on, My dilution, and Fade. The band is looking forward to the release of the e.p., and anticipate a continuation of what has become the Screwtape Letters live experience.

About the Artist
The Screwtape Letters became a band in 1997, while Joseph Witham, Ryan Sharp and Chad Fuller were attending Dallas Baptist University. In the same year, Kyle Blair responded to an ad placed in the Met by these three. The unification of these four musicians; Joseph on lead vocals and guitar, Chad fuller on back up vocals and guitar, Kyle Blair on bass guitar, and Ryan Sharp on drums, serves as the beginning of an experience that continues to exceed expectations.
Album Description
Where are you going? Where have you been?, is the first full-length album released by the screwtape letters. This album is emotionally driven and is a melodic piece. Witham's lyrics detail an abstract view of a walk through life. It has been compared in resemblance to early U2, Travis, and radiohead.
