... scrapbook of sound, whose bright colors and irregular shapes reanimate rather than regurgitate the familiar tropes of lo-fi electronica.
Album Description
Floridian is an exercise of intentional and poignant simplicity. In a genre where mathematical, process based music is enjoying a bulletproof existence amongst critics, the widespread usage of common software has created a hyper homogenized world of sound-alike product. Returning to the root of melody and basic song structure might be viewed upon as a 'do yourself in' approach to many in these circles, but the folks at Wobblyhead couldn't disagree more. Am-boy leaves the camera out of focus, clicking away at many of life's simple pleasures: childhood, nature, and nostalgia. Sometimes the most compelling moments are found flittering in the in-between. While the balanced geometry of Floridian cycles beyond indifference by uniting the soul with a metaphorical soundtrack of a walk to the beach, you can rest assured that no one is chasing you, the walls aren't closing in, and that the coast is peacefully clear.
