Ten Foot Pole have been around for a while, but with the release of Insider, the group might well infiltrate Middle America and become MTV darlings faster than you can say "Green Day." The record is packed with blustery guitar rhythms and whiplash-inducing beats, but it's rooted in simple melodic songcraft, recalling prime Bad Religion, early Offspring, and, at its most commercial moments, Ned's Atomic Dustbin. Lyrically, Ten Foot Pole explore traditional themes of alienation and angst (yawn), but musically, Insider is a cut above most happycore offerings. --Jon Wiederhorn
