In September of 1976, a memorable Anglo-German summit took place in a picturesque village in the Weserbergland area of Germany. The ambient music pioneer Brian Eno (solo artist, collaborator, ex-Roxy Music member, and label proprietor) stopped by at the old Weserhof inBevern-Forst, the domicile of electronic musicians and multi-instrumentalists Hans Joachim Roedelius, Dieter Moebius, and Michael Rother. Roedelius and Moebius, who were then (and still are) active in the duo Cluster (né Kluster), and Rother, formerly of Kraftwerk and one-half of the duo NEU!, had been working together since May of 1973 under the name Harmonia and had already recorded two classics of electronic krautrock: MUSIK VON HARMONIA (1974) and HARMONIA DELUXE (1975).
