The Solid Sounds of the 8-piece Brotherhood [Import]

Calling 00-Soul an acid-jazz band is like calling Miles Davis a horn player. Sure, it's true, but the label doesn't do the subject justice. An octet hailing from Long Beach, California, these soul brothers are an ingeniously sly and furiously funky band intent on shaking the shack till the lights flicker and the walls sweat. Combining everything from Latin percussion, wheezing organ, and wah-wah guitar to contempo-as-tomorrow turntableism, 00-Soul's groove music comes off as a drippy sponge dunked in the combined juices of War, Santana, and Tower of Power. If that sounds like your kind of mess, this is your kind of band. --S. Duda

"Funk"? "Funk" is an understatement. This is nasty s**t straight from the heart of Long Beach, CA.

Album Description
Eclectic mix of jazz/funk and afro-Cuban beats layered with loops and samples integrated with an eight piece ensemble of musicians.
