...Here it is in all its glory; a series of rudimentary sub-Ramones smut-core tunes peppered with answering-machine messages and the odd bellowing diatribe from GG who, in line with most performance shockers, doesn't sound half as hard as he thinks he is.
Album Description
22 tracks of pure GG assembled by GG's brother, Merle, and original executive producer, Mykel Board.
This is a compilation of live performances from various points in his career. Of course it's missing a great deal of relevant information and the recording quality is crude. This is probably the best place to be introduced to the demented moron who made obscenity a political statement, as he was still possessed of an intelligible voice on these recordings. He can even carry a tune on the earlier tracks, unthinkable to those familiar only with his later work. His between-song banter with the audience is hilariously stupid. It features guest appearances from Dinosaur Jr.'s J. Mascis and the MC5's Wayne Kramer and Dennis Thompson. Most of Allin's earlier recordings are out of print, so if you're a fan, find this.
