Finally, an over-the-top live album intended to satisfy all of you MxPx fans out there. After ultra-high-energy studio affairs like Life in General and Slowly Going the Way of the Buffalo, At the Show is chock full of live versions of MxPx classics such as "I'm OK, You're OK," "Chick Magnet," and "The Downfall of Western Civilization." Produced by the Descendents' Bill Stevenson, this Washington-based trio blaze through 23 (count 'em) uptempo anthems that, while still derivative of faux Brit punks like Green Day, never fail to deliver the punk-rock goods. With a moderately rousing and extremely accurate version of the Ramones's "KKK," MxPx show that they've certainly done their punk homework, but you have to be a dedicated follower to find this collection absolutely essential. --Mitch Meyers
