About the Artist
Jerry Drake, musician and educator, is a native of and resides in New York City. He studied at DePaul University in Chicago, where has been leading the band that became THE FRONT PAGE BIG BAND. in 1998, they released A TRIBUTE TO THE BIG BANDS, a collection of original songs written and arranged by Jerry in the style of Big Bands swing. TRIBUTE has just been remixed and digitally remastered for re-release and is now available. 2005 also sees the release of the band's second CD, a ballroom dancer's trip through the tropics called LATIN LATITUDES. in addition, a third CD, Jerry's aptly named first solo effort SONGS FROM MY HEART, has just been released. All feature Jerry's original compositions and arrangements, as well as his contributions on trumpet, trombone, flugelhorn, organ, piano and lead vocals. Jerry is working on two CD's for release later this year tentatively titled SWING AGAIN,A TRIBUTE TO THE BIG BANDS-PART TWO and MORE SONGS FROM THE HEART.
