About the Artist
KIM PREVOST is an accomplished vocalist and songwriter. She has worked in all facets of the entertainment industry. She began singing as a child, in church choirs, where she often performed duets with the pastor, her father. In addition to completing eight years of ballet, tap and jazz dance training, she also pursued modeling.
She continued to sing, dance and model throughout her college years. Her theater credits include leading roles in "Sweet Charity,""Dreamgirls," "A Dose of Reality," "West Side Story" and a Cole Porter review under musical direction of Allen Toussaint. Additional credits include several television commercials and dancing for the MTV show "NFL Jams Live."
Kim has performed with GRP recording artist George Howard, former Herbie Hancock percussionist Bill Summers, and the Walter Payton Trio. She is a featured vocalist on the latest release by Trent Reznor's Nine Inch Nails.
Kim, along with her musical partner/husband Bill Solley released their debut CD, I Would Give All My Love, on STR Digital Records in April 1999. They won the 1999 B.E.T. On Jazz "Jazz Discovery" national competition. They have appeared at numerous festivals, including the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, the Cancun Jazz Festival, the Yerevan 2000 International Jazz Festival in Armenia, and 2001 Ingolstadter Jazztage in Ingolstadt, Germany. They have toured extensively, including recent performances in South Africa, Japan, Turkey, Brazil, and the Netherlands, as well as throughout the United States.
Kim & Bill have received nominations for Gambit Weekly's Big Easy Award in the "Best Emerging Artist" category and for OffBEAT Magazine's Best of the Beat award in the "New Jazz Artist" category. They were also selected to perform at the 2000 Best of the Beat Awards show at New Orleans' House of Blues. Their CD, I Would Give All My Love, has received critical acclaim from numerous publications, including OffBEAT, Gambit, Just Jazz Guitar, allmusic.com, and Northshore News.
