About the Artist
Ty Causey is a native of Indiana in a small town, Fort Wayne. He came from a talented family of musicians and vocalist. As a small child, Ty has always dreamed of making a major musical contribution to the music industry. Often he would listen to the radio and get in front of the mirror with a broomstick as a microphone and act as if he was on stage performing in front of the world. So to come this far in his career is a dream come true the accomplished vocalist says. While having guest and family members visit, his mom and dad would have him sing. He would receive pocket change and praise for his efforts with joy and excitement. From that scenario Ty's talents as a singer/songwriter developed early throughout his home, city and abroad. His love for poetry inspired him to write songs for his church choir ensemble; which was showcased during the choir's traveling performances in many cities world-wide. He performed for major gospel recording artists; such as James ! Cleveland, The Hawkin Singers, Shirley Ceasar and many more. Through middle and high school, Ty continued to sing and write his way towards his dream. He graduated from North Side High School and went to college at Purdue University in Indiana and later continued at Alabama A & M University/Huntsville, Alabama.

Later Ty joined a traveling musical play called "Chocolate City Blues" as an actor and lead vocalist. He became the lead vocalist and driving force for a four-man vocal group named "Collaboration" formed by several members of the traveling production. Impressed by the group's talents, a local promoter featured the newly formed group as the opening act for various recording artists; such as Glenn Jones, Silk, Men at Large, Teddy Riley and Wreck's N' Effect. After a couple of years, the group separated and Ty began pursuing a career as a solo artist performing for local concerts, night clubs, CD projects and jingles for Sweetwater Recording Studio. Ty's distinctive style as a vocalist and songwriter was introduced on a CD project with jazz saxophonist, Najee, entitled "Morning Tenderness" in 1998 (polygram/verve/forecast). This was the break that Ty was working for. Najee took him under his wing and patiently informed him of the many aspects of the business and taught him integrity by example. He believed in Ty and proved it by allowing him to co-write and be a lead vocalist of several songs on his "Morning Tenderness" CD. Also, Ty was featured as a vocalist on the world-wide "Morning Tenderness" tour. Ty shared the stage with outstanding recording artists; such as Joe Sample, Pieces Of A Dream, Larry Carlton, Kirk Whalum, Norman Brown, Patti Austin, Take Six and many others. A major dream was fulfilled for Ty as he had the opportunity to meet Motown Records founder, Berry Gordy. Ty later performed with Rock n' Roll hall of fame, Martha Reeves and the Vandellas. Martha told her Motown story in an outstanding musical format created by promoter, Steve Bryant. Ty's portraited and performed some of the most memorable golden tunes of Mavin Gaye in Detroit the hometown of the Motown empire. Ty has also had the opportunity to perform a duet with Tony Award winner and recording artist, Heather Headley, under the direction of musical director, Marshall White.

Ty Causey continues to perform, write and promote his new CD "N-Tysing". The Indiana native is a vocalist with a cloyingly rich voice, impressive skills and generous range that has and will "woo" R & B and Smooth Jazz listeners around the World.

Enjoy the ride!
