On June 16 and 17, 1983, Three Legendary Instrumentalists Joined Together to Record What Would Be their First and Last Collaboration as a Unit. While the Groups Instrumentation Consisted of a Standard Piano Trio, the Combination of Pianist Tommy Flanagan Together with Bassist Ron Carter and Drummer Tony Williams was Anything but Standard. The Studio Sessions Produced 14 Tracks of Superlative Music. Most of the Material Recorded were Modern Jazz Standards which Included Rollins "st. Thomas", Monks "Misterioso", Davis "Milestones", Damerons "Good Bait", Lewis "Afternoon in Paris", Coltranes "Giant Steps", Pettifords "Blues in the Closet" and Parkers "Moose the Mooche". The Date also Featured Three Classic Standards Including Ellingtons "it Dont Mean a Thing", Dennis "Angel Eyes" and Weills "my Ship" as Well as an Original Composition by Each Member of the Trio, Carters "New Song #3", Flanagans "Minor Mishap" and Williams "Sister Cheryl".
