Editorial Reviews
Albuquerque Journal, David Steinberg, 12/3/99
This glorius posthumous album features the rich voice-no pun intended-of Richard Allen on half of the ten cuts. Allen breathes new life in old gems-'Beautiful Love,' 'Morning,' 'How I wish...' 'Dearly Beloved' and the title track, made sadder by the singer's death two years ago. The other half of the CD is a group of instrumental cuts of standards(e.g. 'I Remeber Clifford') and ballads(e.g.'If I were A Bell') by a stellar quartetr made up of Doug Lawrence on sax and flute, Pete Amahl on drums, John belzaguy on bass and Bob Fox on piano.
Product Description
Sophia & Nicholas Peron's Jazzinn Prouctions is proud to announce that our CD of the late, great, baritone voice of Taos vocalist Richard Allen (1942-1997) is available now, almost two years after Richard's untimely death. As we jazz fans know, the music lives on long after the artist dies. Richard always felt that he had 'the voice of the 90's' and we have fullfilled his and our wish to have the CD out by the year 2000...
