About the Artist
To some of the younger artists, he might simply be considered an 'old man and a piano.' But for the man himself, he's launching a brand new life and a brand new career.
In a business where an aging veteran is thirty years old, composer and songwriter Gary Paul Bryant has an uphill climb. When others his age are considering early retirement, Gary is launching a music career.
"It's not about getting old", says the graying composer, "it's about not getting stale and you can get stale at any age."
Born in Connecticut, Bryant's interest in music began at an early age. By thirteen years old, he had developed skills in piano, guitar, drums and accordion. He wrote and copyrighted his first song 'Move Away' at the age of fifteen. His high school rock band, in which Bryant played drums, won a number of 'battles of the bands' that led to recording contracts.
At 52, having raised a son, and developing a successful health consumer web site, BreakThroughDigest.com, he is embarking on a songwriting career. In recent weeks he has just release two CDs of instrumental music. "The CDs have lots of piano, sax and drums - it's sort of a fusion of jazz, rock and new age," says Bryant.
