Francois Houle, clarinet, piano, prepared piano, flute, electronics, tape realization; Ron Samworth, guitar, electronics; Chris tarry, electric bass, voice, electronics; Dylan van der Schyff, percussion, electronics; guests: Tony Wilson, guitar; Dan Gagnon, turntable, sampling; John Kosrud, trumpet; Catriona Strong, Nancy Shaw, readers. A project inspired by the ice storms which ravaged Quebec and Ontario two winters ago and which grapples with the way media representations create/ mediate our perceptions of such events. One disc consists of solo clarinet: improvisations and sounds created on tape derived from Houle’s extended techniques. The second disc is a radiophonic meditation which includes the other musicians in an electroacoustic improvisational context
