About the Artist
Minneapolis-based jazz trumpeter Gene Adams is a musician respected for both his artistry as well as his influence on younger jazz players. Adams, age 60, grew up in San Antonio, Texas, playing blues in barbecue clubs and developing a be-bop style. He studied and performed in Los Angeles and San Francisco before settling in the Twin Cities. He has performed in countless clubs, festivals, and has been on several recordings.
