About the Artist
Doug White served as musical director for the legendary vocalist Annie Ross in the early 1990's. White, the founder of Juniper Records, is working on a new Juniper Records CD release,"The Continuum." Greg Bandy is currently a member of Gary Bartz's quartet. He has also worked with Joe Henderson, Pharoah Sanders, Kenny Burrell, and Little Jimmy Scott. Guitarist Chris Bergson has freelanced around New York City with many top instrmentalists and vocalists. Bergson is currently completing his second Juniper Records CD, "Pedal Tones." He is also featured on the forthcoming Juniper Records release, Annie Ross' "Cool for Kids." Mike Kanan is probably best known as an accompanyist for Little Jimmy Scott, but he has also recorded three fine CD collections for the Fresh Sounds label. Bassist Neal Miner, one of New York's foremost bassists, has recently completed a tour with the Loston Harris Trio, and is currently at work on this upcoming Juniper Records CD, "The Real Neal." Earl Okin, in his first American CD release, demonstrates why he has been the most popular performer in the Edinburgh Jazz Festival. Okin's swinging, sexy bossa nova style is like nothing else you've ever heard! Annie Ross was a third of the legendary jazz singing group, Lambert, Hendricks and Ross. She has since gone on to appear as an actress in major motion pictures, such as The Player, Superman III, as well as starring in her own situation comedy in the U.K. Ross continues to be one of the most in demand caberet and concert performers on the international jazz scene today. Joe Strasser is one of New York's top yong drummers. Strasser performs regularly at Small's jazz club with such top players as Sam Yahel, Ryan Kisor, Peter Bernstein, and Eric Alexander.
