Richard's a complex man who writes his own music and lyrics and brings them to life on piano and guitar. His voice is a jazz instrument improvising on a theme beyond understanding, expanding on feelings, enhancing the mood. My favorite is 'Goodtimes' in which Richard toasts 'the good times... the sweet times... and the things to come'. The reminder of good times past and future is a good introduction to Richard's introspective side.
Richard graduated from the "FAME" NYC High School of the Performing Arts, where he excelled at voice and piano and then became a standout guitar player. Being a realist, he opted for a career in technology - another of his talents - but music still consumed him. So, he shifted his priorities back to writing and performing his own work. And we're so glad he's back as RI'SHAR.
