His style is different, ranging from hip-hop to jazz influences with thoughtful, catchy, and colorful lyrical content. 'Like your heartbeat ringing up thru your ears' - is the pulse of this music education major who is just so personable as well as talented that its actually hard to deny him. He is sincere, believable and adaptable which makes for a winning character which can often be lost amidst all the superficialities of the entertainment industry today. But don't get me wrong, Douglas is an excellent dancer/performer and can move with the best of them. He has a hunger that exudes out of him - a fire burning on the inside, to be the best and change the world thru his creative expression. Unstoppable! Douglas, a native of Canton, Ohio (presently living in Los Angeles), is no stranger to Christian music as he grew up in church singing in church choirs, community choirs, and the like. In 1995, Douglas started his own record label - Pre-Destinee Music Inc. where he plans to help young artists to reach their potential through artist development in all areas. All this while taking his gift to the four corners of the earth... so that every person can be touched with the 'good news'. This mandate began as an evangelistic trip to Paris, France in 1996 where Douglas had a grand opportunity to sing to 6000+ people for a six hour set. "They didn't even want to leave once we were done!" - was the way he described that experience. One he soon hopes to repeat.
Amongst these achievement - Douglas boasts being chosen to represent Ohio (after winning a regional contest) for acting, modeling, and singing with the IMTA (International Modeling and Talent Association) two years running. This was just to prove that he could stand on his own in a crowd of very talented people.
Douglas upon completing his cd (and before) has opened for several of today's top gospel artists such as 'Yolanda Adams' and 'Anointed' (2 years consecutively), The Williams Brothers, sang behind Tremaine Hawkins, and (most recently) Vanessa Bell Armstrong, and other known recording artists. Douglas is also a Praise & Worship Leader of 10+ years and is currently a member of Bishop Noel Jones' church in Gardena, CA - where he is an active member of the "Spirit and Truth" praise and worship team. Douglas has been singing since his youth and plans to continue doing so for decades and decades to come. He is currently working on his second cd to be released in 2004.
Douglas can also be seen in such upcoming movies as "Spiderman2" (to be released in July 2004) and in "You got served" opening in theatres in February and "Malibu's Most Wanted" now on DVD.
