About the Artist
David Whiteman He sings Jazz, R&B, Blues, Pop and Rock... He is a pianist, guitarist and drummer... When David Whiteman performs, his musical style touches a vast range of audiences. Hes not afraid to experiment with a variety of instruments and styles, because he knows his greatest strength as a musician is... his versatility.

David grew up with music. His late father, Samuel Whiteman, an accomplished pianist trained at Julliard, and his mother, self-taught musician with a natural ear, encouraged Davids natural ability at an early age. He began training on piano, but later found a stronger interest in percussion and guitar. With a variety of musical styles to influence him, David discovered his voice was his strongest gift, leaning strongly to soulful R&B and ballads.

He began singing in youth choirs at church. As an adult, he sang covers in local Dallas/Fort Worth area night-spots including the well known Deep Ellum area and in the Bay Area, south of Houston. He soon found his calling as a songwriter, singer and musician.

Davids experiences give him much to write and sing about. Born in Dallas, Texas, his hometown pride led him to serve his community with the Dallas Fire Department. For ten years, he has served as a firefighter/paramedic. Behind his eyes and constant smile hides the truth of the joys and pains of life on the edge. He has fought fires, saved lives, delivered babies, and experienced the worst in death and deprivation. His positive and upbeat attitude help him cope with the hardships and better enjoy his proud moments.

In his spare time, David enjoys art, sports, and fitness and he is completing a pre-med degree at the University of North Texas. Davids multi-dimensional traits shape him into the versatile person he is. His appreciation for lifes experiences are reflected in his music. With a smooth baritone and tenor, his singing voice tells the story. Band Members: David Whiteman wrote, produced, arranged, composed, and performed the entire CD with a few exceptions. The other artists featured are: Saxaphonists Rodney Bowens and Kieth Anderson; vocalists Catherine Whiteman and Phil Johnson and keyboardist Steve Forrest.
