About the Artist
Barbara is accompanied on guitar by Dave Wood who graduated from Berklee College of Music in 1994 and has studied with John Pezanelli, Garrison Fewell and Jon Damian. Guitar by Dave Hertzbert who has appeared with Wynton Marsalis, Greg Tardy, Sam Newsome and others. He is presently a graduate student at the Manhattan Schol of Music. Drums by Chris Michael who has worked with such artists as Tim Hagans, Andy Gonzalez, Bryon Stripling and Mario Rodriguez. On Vibraphone by Nick Mancini who earned a bachelor's degree from the Craine School of Music SUNY Potsdam and a master's degree in Jazz Performance from the Manhattan School of Music. Special Guest: Harmonica by William Galison who has performed with artists as diverse as rock legend Sting, Jazz greats Eddie Gomez and Les Paul and Brazilian stars Astrud Gilberto and Toninho Horta. He can also be heard anonymously on the theme of "Sesame Street".

This is the second CD for Barbara Levy Daniels. Before CDs were made, she recorded for ABC Paramount under the name of Barbara Lyons. Now, nearly 40 years later, she is back and better than ever. She has studied under the tutulage of the great Sheila Jordan and has continued to be self-taught by listening to Joe Williams, Shirley Horn, Ella, and Mel. This CD is a wonderful combination of standards with a twist. There are ballads, latin tunes and standards with a Brazilian beat. This is a not to be missed CD from a star who is rising once again.
