Novak & Haar's "A Summer's Carol" is the first CD to be released by the guitar and bass duo of Jon Novak and Mark Haar. The imputous behind recording this album was to present Jon and Mark's idea of how they thought a jazz guitar trio could sound. This presentation is fairly unique in that it features very clean, transparent textures that allows the listener to easily hear everything that is happening in the band at all times. Jon and Mark selected tunes that are found in both the standard jazz and popular music genres. Also included are three original tunes written by Jon.
