Paragon is a jazz rock band that plays both high volume, up tempo jazz rock a la Mahavishnu and restrained melodic fusion in the great ECM tradition. In particular the incendiary guitar playing of Rob Howard propels the group through memorable, melodic compositions. Matt Baumann provides his Joe Henderson influenced tenor sounds and original compositions, with a tight rhythm section featuring keyboardist Ben Langlois, bassist Jason Gahler and the explosive Matt Schieferstein on drums.
