About the Artist
Composer Geoffrey Gee plays dramatic piano, expressing classical harmonies and dynamics through the free form of jazz. The technique and textures of his music reflect influences ranging from Beethoven, Ravel and Stravinsky, to Lyle Mays and Keith Jarrett.

Keyboard Magazine hailed Mr. Gee's music as "serious, passionate solo piano, beautifully recorded and very listenable... the sense of rubato and the touch have a classical inspiration - Satie in the more withdrawn moments, Moussorgsky in the darker rumbles." His playing has won the attention and praise of such notable pianists as Patrick Moraz and Lyle Mays. He has performed major solo concerts at Harvard University and at Berklee College of Music, and appears regularly at major Boston-area jazz clubs including Scullers, Ryles, and the Acton Jazz Cafe.
