Tommy and Jimmy Dorsey had a famously fractious relationship, so fractious that they "fractured" for a full 18 years, splitting up in 1935 before teaming up again in 1953. But, despite the layoff, the magic was still there, and the Dorsey Brothers quickly became leaders of one of the best postwar big bands, only to split up again three years later, this time for good.
