Live at the Holiday Ballroom [Live]

Product Description
Tommy and Jimmy Dorsey had a famously fractious relationship, so fractious that they "fractured" for a full 18 years, splitting up in 1935 before teaming up again in 1953. But, despite the layoff, the magic was still there, and the Dorsey Brothers quickly became leaders of one of the best postwar big bands, only to split up again three years later, this time for good. Therefore, live recordings of their later orchestra are very rare indeed, and we have unearthed a really, really good one, two CDs worth of material featuring drummer Louis Bellson, trumpeter Charlie Shavers and vocalists Pearl Bailey, Bill Raymond and Lynn Roberts to name but a few big names. Dont miss this opportunity to hear the brothers Dorsey swing into the 50s! Includes 'Just As Though You Were Here; Moten Swing; I Think of You; Moten Swing; Flagler Drive; Somethings Got to Give; Swinging in September; Jazz Mambo; All of You; Smack Dab in the Middle; Lets Fall in Love; Ruby; The Man in the Raincoat; Hot Dog; King Size; Marie Elena; I Should Care; You Gotta Have Heart; Dream; In a Little Spanish Town; Deep Purple; Sweet Sue; Swanee River; Without a Song; April in Paris; Honeysuckle Rose/Table Money; More Than You Know; I Understand', and 'Perfidia'. A 'Collectors Choice Music' exclusive!
