About the Artist
"Courtney Williams", Drummer, Song Writer and A Native New Yorker, grew up in Hollis Queens New York where he was inroduced to a musical explosion scene that included the History making Rap Group "Run-DMC" and "Jam Master Jay" with the whole "Russell Simmons" and "Rick Rubin" partnership of putting Rap, R&B and eventually Rock groups out in the public's eye in a whole other way.........and the classic example of "Courtney Williams" being a part of this was a song called "Perfection" which was recorded with Courtney Williams playing drums at the age of 15 being featured on the album, "Raising Hell", which was the first Rap album in History to cross over to the Pop Rock Charts in the early 1980's. Right after High School Courtney was dashed into the touring world as a drummer touring for almost 4 years with the Pop smash vocal Group, "Color Me Badd". This was ended by an incredible introduction to an Incredible Jazz Icon and Legend named "Kenny Garrett" who Courtney Williams also played drums for and toured with many different groups as a drummer such as, "All-4-One", "Dru-Hill", "Carl Thomas", "Projecto Uno", and eventually his last tour was with Rock Legend "Marriane Faithfull", but even though Courtney Williams is known for playing with independent artist like "Java", "Reese", "Neycha", "Organic!", he is fastly growing as an Artist himself with his own label "Maewi Records" and with his new CD out and another soon to come, you can see why purchasing the CD "Storyteller" would be worth your while..........because Courtney Williams first hand experience with various types of music has given him a certain edge in the music that is in his blood......"Oh, and by the way you won't be disappointed at all.........so go ahead and buy this CD now".
