After the recent successful introduction of the Philips Brilliance 109 computer monitor, Philips is now introducing the 109S. The Philips 109S is specifically designed to meet the growing demand from business and SoHo end-users for an affordable, large screen-sized monitor to display multiple applications under a Windows environment, such as financial database and presentation applications.With a maximum horizontal scanning frequency of 95 KHz, the Philips 109S is capable of displaying a resolution of up to 1600 x 1200 at 75 Hz, or up to 1280 x 1024 @ 85 Hz delivering a fine level of detail and absolute flicker-free images. The Philips 109S is based on a Flat Square Shadow Mask CRT tube, with a special anti-glare, anti-static coating to improve legibility of the characters and color purity. The 0.26 mm dot pitch provides pin-sharp images. The 109S monitor has a relatively small footprint, making it an attractive and affordable choice for users who want a large viewable area without losing too much desk space. Its new Six-Window On-Screen Display (OSD) provides an optimal screen parameter adjustment, featuring Quick X'it for instant exit at any functional level. The OSD includes full-size, color temperature adjustments, video input selection and many other features, and is accessible through a digital rotary knob at the front panel. With the addition of the 109S to the Philips' S-range, Philips now offers a range of 19" monitors addressing the needs of every market segment, from a SoHo (Small Office, Home Office) environment right up to the demanding corporate end-user and professional CAD-user.
