It's an easy-to-use automotive WAAS-enabled GPS navigator as well as a powerful handheld computer with Microsoft’s Windows Mobile 2003 Professional Edition software package, Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition, which supports portrait/landscape screen orientation for easy viewing of multimedia content.
The M3 features a 312-MHz Intel PXA 271 processor, 32 MB of ROM, 64 MB of RAM, and a 3.5-inch transreflective LCD screen with 240 by 320-pixel resolution. The Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition operating system includes the following software: Microsoft Pocket Outlook, Internet Explorer, Word and Excel; Windows Media Player, MSN Messenger Service, Calculator and ActiveSync.
The M3's GPS antenna on the folds flush with the back of the unit. Once its released the M3's GPS capabilities are powered up, initiating the satellite-acquisition sequence and defaults to the QueMap interface. Incorporating Gamin's easy-to-use C-series automotive navigation software, the M3 provides automatic route calculation to any destination and an integrated speaker gives voice-prompted, turn-by-turn directions to your destination. The intuitive, point-screen interface requires little input and lets you quickly and easily look up an address or route in just a few seconds. You can choose between a three-dimensional navigation view--which lets you see an uncluttered view of what’s down the road--or the more traditional 2-D overhead view.
It features a built-in basemap of North and South America shows major highways, thoroughfares, railways, lakes, rivers and borders. Additionally, the M3 includes the MapSource City Select DVD, which provides detailed street-level map data and enables you to look up nearly six million points of interest (POIs), and navigate to addresses throughout the U.S. and Canada.
