This hard drive caddy is designed to fit the StarTech IDE66BASIC IDE Removable Disk Drawer. It allows another drive to be swapped into a PC with the bay portion of the IDE66BASIC installed. PCs can then have many interchangeable hard drives with different software or operating systems installed. Several could be used to create a high-speed backup system.
