IOMEGA 32936 -- In a landmark agreement, leading edge Computer technology leader IOMEGA teamed with XIMETA, implementing a new technology called NDAS ( Network Direct Attached Storage ) in portable external hard drives. This technology derives from NAS ( Network Attached Storage ), which allows seamless replacement of hard drives in large Server systems. The NDAS chip, along with Dedicated software, permits an external hard drive that can be directly connected to an Ethernet LAN ( Local Area Network ) or directly to a Personal computer via USB 2.0.
