Unlike traditional CD burners, which require users to boot up their computers and open the appropriate software, the iCDR04 works at the touch of a button. Simply put the original CD in the "reader" slot, add a blank CD-R/RW disc in the "writer" slot, and hit the Start button. The duplicator takes care of the rest, copying at 24x and then ejecting the new CD when it's finished. The copying function is ideal for musicians who need to make multiple copies of a demo CD, or for designers archiving photo, multimedia movie, or data discs.
Music fans can also use the iCDR04 to create track-by-track song compilations through the intuitive interface, which copies the songs you select in any order (and from multiple discs) and then burns them onto a rewritable CD. As an alternative, users can connect the device to a PC via the USB 2.0 port, where it serves as an external CD burner. The computer option essentially cuts out the middleman when you need to archive data, images, or music that's saved on a hard drive.
In addition, the iCDR04, which includes built-in line-level and headphone outputs, functions as a standalone CD player.
