Book Description
Based on chance and a willful surrender to fate, Chinese fortune-telling relies on age-old Eastern rituals to open the doors to the future. For centuries, troubled souls sought advice about difficult situations by contacting the gods and goddesses through divination sticks. With Chinese Fortune Sticks, today's truth-seekers can once again consult with the spirit world.

After addressing a question to the heavens, the supplicant places the 64 sticks, each individually numbered, in a sacred container marked with the Chinese character for spiritual blessing, then shakes the cup until a stick falls out. Its number corresponds to a thought-provoking poem whose meaning is applied to the problem at hand. In this way, the gods offer their guidance.

Chinese Fortune Sticks presents this ancient method to Western audiences in an accessible, comprehensive format for the first time. The stylish package includes 64 bamboo divination sticks, a good-luck wooden shaker, and an illustrated book containing newly translated and interpreted divinatory poems, based on all five sets of original texts. Perfect for serious spiritualists and new-age enthusiasts alike, Chinese Fortune Sticks approaches modern-day difficulties with the wisdom of the ancients.
