About the Author
Gary Whannel is Professor of Media Cultures and Director for the Centre of International Media Analysis at the University of Luton. He is the author of Understanding Sport and Fields of Vision: Television Sport and Cultural Transformation, (Routledge 1992). He is also the co-editor of Understanding Television, (Routledge 1990).
