This textbook introduces readers to SolidWorks 2006, the world's leading parametric solid modeling package. In this textbook, the author emphasizes on the solid modeling techniques that improve the productivity and efficiency of the user. Consisting of 14 chapters structured in a pedagogical sequence, this textbook is very effective in learning the features and capabilities of the software. It covers the Part, Assembly, and Drawing modes of SolidWorks 2006. Every chapter begins with a command section that provides a detailed explanation of the commands and tools in SolidWorks 2006. The command section is followed by tutorials that are created using these commands. This approach allows users to use this textbook initially as a learning tool and then later as a reference material. Special graphics are provided on the commands or tools that are either new in SolidWorks 2006 or are enhanced in this release. This allows the reader to recognize all the new additions and enhancements in SolidWorks 2006.

Sham Tickoo is a professor of Manufacturing Engineering Technology at Purdue University Calumet, USA where he has taught design, drafting, CAD, and other engineering courses for over eighteen years.
