Susan Birrell is Professor in the Departments of Sport, Health, Leisure, and Physical Studies, and Women's Studies at the University of Iowa. She is co-editor of Women, Sport, and Culture. She lives in Iowa City. Mary G. McDonald is Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Education, Health and Sport Studies at Miami University. She lives in Fairfield, Ohio.
